Wonderful House

This house exceeded our expectations! What surprised us the most was how clean the pool was. It was a wonderful temperature. There were tons of games and books and things for kids to do. We spent so much of our time outside so all the amenities were a huge hit. The only negative would be the walk to the beach, those dunes are a bit steeper than you think, however, it's what we like! Very private, very quiet. We can't wait to come back again.
Thank you for the kind words. We're thrilled you had a fantastic beach vacation at Somewhere on a Beach.
We can’t wait to have you back and create more wonderful memories together!

Nice vacation house

We enjoyed our week. My request for a couple of blankets was filled immediately. Having just had surgery, I was chilly, where the rest were fine. Having rented for years, I was well versed as to what "extras" one needed to bring. Overall, the house is well stocked. We did have a tropical storm while there., so the pool water was chilly. Heat would have been a bonus. The kiddie pool was great for the 2 year old with us. The elevator was a life saver with unpacking and packing out. Plus everyday use. As to the beach access. I was the only one that didn't use it. But, I knew of a boardwalk to the beach, so I drove there to access the beach. I have rented a few houses over the years on the beach. The dunes block the view of the beach at every house., but the ocean view is awesome. I believe this house has a lot to offer for a vacation in the Outer Banks.
Thank you for the 5-star review! We appreciate your feedback and are delighted you enjoyed your Hatteras Island vacation.
We can’t wait to host your group in the near future!

Great House Overall

We had a wonderful time at "Somewhere on a Beach". The was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed for a great beach vacation. The walk to the beach is a little long and has 2 dunes, but our group was able to navigate it well. It could be tough for little ones, elderly, or disabled people. There were an abundance of games, puzzles, outdoor seating, and beach chairs. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was sufficiently supplied with the basics. Overall a great house!
Thank you for your great review and thrilled you enjoyed your stay! Our team is passionate about providing all our guests with outstanding experiences.
We hope we'll be able to provide a similarly excellent experience in the near future!

Spacious house

Very spacious house. Beach walk was long and hard to manage. View to beach was blocked by dunes. House could use more dish towels and very disappointed there was absolutely no hand soap in bathrooms! Elevator was a plus as there are many many stairs. Very roomy as we had 14 people and you would never known that there was that many.. also could have used more silverware. Basic cooking equipment but many extra appliances

Great house and amenities but poor beach access

The house was great! Our family enjoyed both pools. The baby pool was perfect for the special needs child in our group. Everyone also liked the hot tub. We had corn hole, ping pong and ring game tournaments. The beach chairs that are furnished were appreciated. The all floor elevator was great for the grandparents and special needs child. However, the path to the beach over 2 sand dunes was certainly not handicap accessible and was very difficult for the grandparents to get over. The house was oceanfront but could not see the beach over the dunes. You could see the water from the top deck but not the actual beach. Everyone enjoyed the week but beach access for some in our group was a problem.

Spacious Family Retreat

We loved our stay at “Somewhere on a Beach!” We traveled with 6 adults and 4 children ages 6 and under. The house was very spacious and more room than we needed. The top floor provided a large living space and full kitchen/dining area with a beautiful view of the ocean and dunes. We enjoyed cooking at home and playing games, many of which were provided. The bedrooms were very comfortable and spacious, each with their own tv and bathroom. The pool area was wonderful for our family. The kids loved the shallow pool area to play in. Brindley Beach was very quick to respond when we had an issue with the pool heat not working and sent someone right over. We traveled the first week of May and had low 60s weather, but the pool heat was great and we could swim mostly every day. Make note we learned that the pool heat cuts off when the outside temp drops below 60 degrees. We truly have no complaints about our stay. There are many stairs and a walk over the dune to the beach, but very doable. The elevator was a life saver at times that we didn’t know we needed! You won’t regret staying in this beautiful home.
