We’ve got a heck of a weekend coming up here on the Outer Banks. Tomorrow is the Annual CrabDaddy Fest at Sanctuary Vineyard. Beginning tomorrow afternoon the 14th Annual Duck Jazz Festival is happening and back after a couple of years off the Parade of Homes is ready to show off the best of Outer Banks design and workmanship in construction.
That’s a lot to stuff into one weekend, but somehow we’re doing it.
Luckily it looks as though the weather is going to cooperate. Pleasantly cool temperatures, bright sunshine…should be perfect.
CrabDaddy may be the all time fun festival to check out. As the folks at Sanctuary Vineyards describe it, “Once a year, Crabdaddy emerges from the Currituck Sound, bringing a bounty of fresh seafood for everyone to enjoy.”
It’s an All You Can Eat celebration of fresh crab and Eastern North Carolina BBQ, great music, very nice wine, some beer. There is everything good and nothing to dislike about this one.
Saturday is sort of the warmup for the main event for the Duck Jazz Festival. Just one performer Saturday afternoon followed by a full day of nonstop jazz on Sunday. It’s all outdoors on the Duck town green or the amphitheater making it a great day to be outside.
Finally, the whole weekend is the 30th Annual Parade of Homes. For the past few years it’s been a virtual parade—the best that could be done under the circumstance but now it’s back live.
There are some amazing builders and designers on the Outer Banks and touring the homes really highlights just how good they are.
For anyone thinking of building a custom home on the Outer Banks, the Parade of Homes is the perfect time to get an introduction to the builders.
There is still so much happening on the Outer Banks that we can’t list it all. Be sure to see for yourself what it’s all about while staying in a Brindley Beach Vacations Home.
