The 2022 Outer Banks Taste of the Beach is almost upon us and it is so good to finally be getting back to where we have been in the past.
Some of the really large gathering event aren’t happening this year—mostly because when the planning for those happening, it was unclear if the Omega COVID variant would dissipate by the end of March.
But absent the Grand Tasting that has traditionally wrapped things up at the TOB, it’s a pretty full schedule Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
There is so much to choose from.
We’ll start off by acknowledging that most of the events are sold out at this point in time. But some of what the local restaurants have on tap are not ticketed events so there’s plenty of opportunity to check things out.
To get a bit of the feel of the traditionally gathering of of foodies, check out Sanctuary Vineyards VINE DINING: Food Truckin’ On The Farm on Saturday afternoon (11-3:00). Saturday is looking like the weather is going to be very pleasant and with the picnic tables not he north lawn of the Cotton Gin where Sanctuary Vineyards is locating, this is a great event for the whole family.
A really interesting event is taking at Lost Colony Brewery out in Stumpy Point on Saturday. A bit of a haul and somewhat away from al the other events, but owner and brewmaster Paul Charron’s theory that all civilization began with the brewing of beer is worth hearing.
There are, of course, the usual wine tastings, tequila tastings and beer tastings as well as a Trio— The Art of Charcuterie, at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Finally, when it’s time to wind down it’s Jazz Brunch Bottomless Mimosa on Sunday from 11:00 am-2:30 pm at the Outer Banks Brewing Station in Kill Devil Hills. Jazz guitar master Joe Mapp provides the music.
The Outer Banks is a great place to visit and let the troubles of the world fall away. Plan you stay in Brindley Beach Vacations home and see what it’s all about.
