This begin Super Bowl Sunday we’re gong to take a quick break from our usual thoughts about all things Outer Banks and mention that was one heck of a game.

Even though the Outer Banks is a really special place and there is simply nothing else quite like it, come Super Bowl Sunday, well, we’re pretty much like the rest of the country. Lot’s of parties, gathering with friend, sit back and hope for a really good game…which we got this year.

Leading up to the game, it’s the same as it is everywhere—store shelves with not much left on them for all the ingredients that go into party trays and feeding 10 or l2 friends gathered around a big screen TV.
A lot of to go orders leaving restaurants and the pizza delivery drivers were kept really busy.

Pretty much the way it is everywhere.

Super Bowl Sunday is a little bit unique this year. It’s unclear what the significance of this is, but evidently, for the first time in the 61 year history of the game, Valentine’s Day is the next day.

Maybe there’s some cosmic force at work, reminding folks to remember the romance in their lives.

The nice thing about the Outer Banks, of course, is that it loans itself so well to romance. A quiet evening in the winter with someone special, or a walk on the beach. At this time of the year, the beach is almost deserted creating a perfect opportunity to create a memory that will always be treasured.

There is, of course, much more to the Outer Banks than the beach and an evening alone with a friend and partner. There are shops to explore, trails through maritime forests, and astonishing history.

It’s all part of what makes the Outer Banks so wonderful and yet so much a part of the everyday fabric of life.

Create your Outer Banks memories with a stay in a home.
